What is an old bowling trophy worth?
League trophies were made by the thousand from plated metal on a plastic or marble base. There is no collector market for them.
Almost all of them are worth $5–$15, and that is for the look of the object rather than the metal.
The exceptions are pre-1940 solid brass or silver-mounted cups, and trophies engraved with a named professional event.

Red flag
Plated, not solid metal. Plate has no scrap value and no collector demand, so the engraving is the only thing that can rescue the value.
What decides the value
- Metal
- Solid brass, copper or sterling behaves completely differently from plate.
- Age
- Pre-1940 loving cups have a small but real market. Post-war league awards do not.
- The engraving
- A named professional event or athlete is the one thing that changes the tier.
- Maker's mark
- Marks are usually stamped on the underside of the base or the cup foot.
- Condition
- Dented plate and missing figures are not economic to repair.
