What is a box of 1988 Topps baseball cards worth?
Cards printed between 1987 and 1993 came out of the factory in enormous numbers, and almost all of them survived.
A shoebox of several hundred 1988 Topps commons is worth $5–$20 as a lot. A sealed factory set is worth $10–$30.
The exceptions are a small number of star rookie cards from the set, and only in near-perfect condition. Grading one costs more than most of them are worth.

Red flag
This is the overproduction era. Supply is the whole story, so condition and grading costs almost always exceed what the cards bring.
